StaticBox started out in 2004 as a really small and private network made by a couple of friends. Through time more people started getting interested in us so we decided to open up for public.
Since that day, we started expanding. We like to keep our users happy with the latest ircd and services features available to us. After all, users are the most important factor of a good organized IRC network.
We use the latest version of Charybdis ircd and Atheme services coded and kept up to date by nenolod one of the creators of both projects. We choose for this particular software because they suited us best for the kind of style of network we were trying to achieve.
You can join us using your favorite IRC client, here are a few examples.
- Windows: mIRC from www.mirc.com
- Windows/Linux/Osx: xchat from www.xchat.org
- *nix/Mac OS X/Bsd: irssi from http://irssi.org/
If you do not like these clients, a better and bigger list of irc clients is available on Wikipedia.
To connect to StaticBox, type in our network address in your favorite irc client. with the following command: "/server irc.staticbox.net". To get a listing of channels, use the "/list" command.
- #staticbox : This our main channel. You can discuss anything network related in here or just talk about the weather.
- #gfaqs : This is the GameFaqs discussion channel setup by a few members of that website.
- #help : If you require any network related help (services problems, ircd questions, etc) then this is the place to join.
